(RUSSELLVILLE, SC)
The Roseburg Forest Products Particleboard Plant in Russellville earned
the distinguished OSHA Voluntary Protection Program Palmetto
Star
award for outstanding excellence in safety performance and systems.
Plant employees celebrated their accomplishments at a flag-raising
ceremony on March 30th.
"It's comforting to know that Roseburg
Forest Products makes
employee safety a priority," says Caldwell Pinckney, Jr., President of
the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, " this company is a shining example
of excellence, and we are proud that the plant continues to make
Berkeley County its home!"
Most of the 150 plant employees become
actively involved in safety
committees and safety processes. The Russellville Particleboard
continues its legacy of maintaining an excellent safety record.
"Over the years, we've worked very hard to
ensure we have systems in
place to keep our employees safe," says Steve Carroll, Plant Manager,
"we want their families to feel secure in knowing that their loved one
is leaving home and entering a safe work environment. It's a team
effort, and I applaud all of our employees for their dedication to
excellence!"
Roseburg purchased the Russellville
Particleboard Plant from
Georgia-Pacific last December, and is considering growth opportunities
for the business. Plant cleanliness goes hand-in-hand with safety and
efficiency, and the Russellville Particleboard employees demonstrate a
keen determination to create a safe and efficient work environment.
