Huger Recreation Area
This scenic, shady wayside rest along SC Route 402
is near Huger Creek outside Huger, SC. It is well-suited for
group gatherings or a quick picnic.
Directions: Just
north of Moncks Corner, on US 17-A. Turn right onto SC Highway
402 and drive 13 miles to the recreation area on the right.
Facilities: Picnic shelter

Canal Recreation Area:
Canal Recreation Area is located between Bonneau
and Moncks Corner next to Lake Moultrie. It provides a welcome
wayside rest area for travelers along Highway 52 and refreshing cool
breezes to the recreation area on the left.
Directions: From Moncks Corner, take SC Highway 52 north for 6 miles to the recreation area on the left.

Overton Park
Santee Cooper’s Overton Park features a 400-foot
beachfront swimming area, several shelters and a playground. The
park is open to the public and admission is $2 per person ages 4 and
above.
Directions:
From Moncks Corner, take US #52 north toward Florence, and turn
left on Powerhouse Road. Turn right at Old Black Road. Turn left onto
Short Stay Road, and the entrance will be on the right.

Open only from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, 10:00a.m. -
6:00p.m. Opens on weekends only after Berkeley County Schools
begin.

This ranger station in the Francis Marion National Forest also serves
as a parking and rest area for the Swamp Fox Passage of the Palmetto
Trail. A kiosk describing the trail is located here.
Directions:
From Moncks Corner take SC 52 to SC 402 and turn right. Stay on
SC 402 for 3.1 miles, Turn left on Witherbee Road. Stay on
Witherbee Road 3.1 miles, continue on Wright Road 3.3 miles, Slight
right at Strawberry Road/Witherbee Road .4 mile. Witherbee Ranger
District on the right,

Honey Hill Recreation Area
This primitive camping facility on the Frances Marion National Forest is located between McClellanville and Honey Hill.
Directions from Moncks Corner: Take
SC 52 North. Turn slight right onto SC17-A/US 17. Follow
SC17A/US 17 to Jamestown. Take SC 45/French Santee Road to Honey
Hill. Recreation Area will be on right. It is approximately 40
miles from Moncks Corner.
